Christiaan W. J. M. Alting von Geusau, a native of the Netherlands, spent his formative years immersed in a strongly Catholic home environment. Geusau studied law and earned degrees from the University of Leiden, the University of Heidelberg, and the University of Vienna. He practiced law at several international law firms before becoming president of the International Theological Institute. Geusau also became founding president of the Phoenix Institute Europe Foundation and co-founder and president of the International Catholic Legislators Network. In 2012 he and his wife founded the Schola Thomas Morus, a secondary school in Austria where he hopes to see realized his vision of a school “with a living faith, with formation in the classical virtues, and with a rigorous curriculum that teaches children how to think, how to understand, and thus how to learn.” Gausau continues to lecture and write on topics of education, philosophy, and law.
