The author of From Red Earth, Denise Uwimana, is a survivor of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda who has devoted her life to the work of healing and reconciliation through forgiveness and community.
Ms. Uwimana is featured in the April issue of Christianity Today and in the Spring 2019 issue of Plough Quarterly. The publication of her book coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.
